In this tutorial we are going to create a festive nail design. When finished you will have 10 wintery snowmen beautifully painted on your nails. Just follow the simple steps below.

Prepare your nails

Make sure your nails are ready to be painted. Ensure that they are trimmed and filed.

Once you have done this you will be ready to begin on your festive nail art design that is sure to impress your friends.

Apply a base coat

For this design we are going to use a blue background. this will provide us with a night sky effect.

Any dark blue nail varnish will do. If you want you design to stand out even more use a sparkly effect varnish.

It’s time to make a snowman

Using a white nail art pen on nail brush paint two circles starting near the bottom of your nail.

Make sure that the bottom circle is slightly bigger than the top one. The overall size will depend on how big your nails are, but be sure to leave room so you can see the background blue you have painted on in the previous step.

Now lets dress the snowman

Give your snowman 2 eyes (using a black nail art pen). Paint an orange “carrot” nose in the middle of the upper circle.

Next paint a scarf on to your snowman – in between the two circles. Use any colour you like.

Add some finishing touches

Now paint some white dots on the background of the nail to make it look like snow. That’s it your nail should look similar to this.

All you have to do now is to repeat the process on your other 9 fingers. Remember to leave time for the nail polish to dry between each step!
