Party Games for BoysIn this post we are going to take a quick look at party games that you can play with boys and in particular pirate themed party games for boys, however most of the games can be tailored to match any theme you may have.

Below are seven games that we like to play at our parties. If you have any party game ideas you would like to share with us please contact us via the forma t the bottom of the page

Get your pirate themed party of to a  fine start with a treasure hunt. Before the guests arrive for the party hide some treasure / prizes around your venue. This can be anything from sweets to small toys. Draw up a small map with  various clues on to help the boys find the treasure.

Coin Toss

Coin toss is always popular at boys birthday parties. In order to play this game you will need a small treasure chest ( a decorated box will be fine) and some coins (chocolate or plastic). Give each child say 5 coins each and draw a line for them to stand behind. Place the treasure chest a few meters away.  Then in turn each boy gets to “toss” their coins toward the treasure chest. The boy who gets most of their coins to land inside the treasure chest gets a prize.

Pin the Chest on the treasure island

Pin the Chest on the treasure island is in essence pin the tail on the donkey and can be bought form any online party store.  The only difference between the two is that instead of pinning  a tail to a donkey the boys must put the chest as close as possible to a cross marked on a treasure island.  You will need a blindfold to play this game and some blutac.

Find the croc

Find the croc is another pirate party favourite. For this game you will require an egg timer. The egg timer is going to be your crocodile. You must hide the crocodile somewhere in your venue and set the timer. The boys must then (quietly) go about looking for the crocodile before it snaps (timer goes off). The person who finds the croc before he snaps ids the winner.

Mop the Decks and Pass the Balloon

If you have a larger group of children at your party thenMop the Decks and Pass the Balloon are ideal games. To play Mop the Decks you will require two balloons and two brooms. Split your group of children in to two lines. Place two chairs about 5 meters away from the two lines. Then one child from each line at a time must sweep the balloon around the chair at the other side of the room and return to the line. Once back to their line they must pass the mop and balloon to the next child. Continue until all children have had a go. The line who finish first are the winners each getting a prize.

Pass the balloon also requires your guests to be standing in two lines. The person at the front of each line starts with a balloon they must pass it over their head to the child behind them, who must in turn pass it through their legs to the child behind. The first line to get their balloon back to the front again is the winning team.

Treasure Tray

One last game you can play at your pirate themed birthday party is Treasure Tray. For this game you will need a tray, a tea towel and some household objects ( about 1 for each guest). Place the objects on the tray and let the children study the tray for 15 seconds. Then cover the tray with the tea towel and remove 1 item. The child who can remember which item of treasure has been removed gets a prize. Keep repeating until there are no more items left
